I've added this section on naming your work after someone posted on a Facebook art page asking for advice.

I often ask students to come up with a name for their work and tell them that it's a way to guide the viewer and get across intent.

There are different ways that they can go beyond the obvious, e.g. a tree. They can use mood, colour, symbols or connections to what is going around them, emotions, occupations, traits, songs and poems, mashups and slang. The idea is that they can extend meaning through the judicious use of titles.
