* Focus on artists that connect with their age, give them cultural literacy (artists and works that are often referenced in visual and print media and parodied- so they can get the "joke" so to speak), artists that have local ties for relevance and a sense of community, and artists that will stretch them (artists from other cultures, ones with a great story, ones overcoming adversity, artists wth social justice as a goal, artists in the news, artists with amazing processes).
