I. Look at the ads that Mrs. T gives you. These are not ads for arts-related careers. What qualifications do they ask for?

   Brainstorm in pairs and make a list. Share with the pair next to you and come up with a complete list. Then share with the class.

   Art Career Skills 

 

 

This project will familiarize you with your options as you move towards graduation.

  1. Go to artroom.pbworks.com > Grade 12 > Choosing your Art Path. Find a career that appeals to you.

  2. Research the career you have chosen by clicking on the Careers page (link is on page with career choices).

  3. Use MyBlueprint or links on the Careers page or Google for more information.

  4. Fill in the worksheet with information (as shown below).

  5. Include the website link for 2 sources of information.

  6. Create a Google Slides presentation. They will be embedded on this wiki and presented in class. 

  7. Create an original work of art that exemplifies the art career that you researched.

Thinking/Inquiry:

  • Identify a career and the reasons that it appeals to you.

Knowledge/Understanding:

  • Describe the type of art that you will create and what you need to do (tasks) to create it

  • Research one artist – either current or someone from the past – that works in the field and provide a link to the art or information.

  • Identify the type of education that is required and 2 Ontario schools that offer courses. (Note: all fields can benefit from an education).

  • Research future opportunities for employment in this field and the financial potential.

Communication:

  • Use proper writing conventions.

  • List 2 or more websites where you found the information. (Links are sufficient)
